Ideal ending to Terminator
Jul 18 2008, 10:27 PM EDT Well then hoping that Terminator gets a good run and enough time to finish with the story wrapped up. How would you like to see the ending happen? I personally think it would end with something of a union of man and machine as even if the humans win Judgment Day its still the greatest calamity in mankind's history. This could be brought around by Cameron's experiences while living with the Connors. So your thoughts? Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 18 2008, 11:55 PM EDT In the thread "Cameron's death" by Veran I posted my ideas. Basically, here's the argument: 1. The development of AI is inevitable. We can't stop it. First it was Miles Dyson. Then Andy Goode. And what's to stop it from developing 100 years from now? 200 years from now? 300 years from now? 2. But even if AI cannot be stopped, it can be changed for the better. For example, Cameron Phillips can become human in the moral and intellectual (obviously not the physical) sense. I posted a response under http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/1669553/Cameron%27s+Death?offset=20&maxResults=20 in that thread saying that Cameron's AI can become an alternative to Skynet. This means the AI derived from her is truly nothing more than an alternate form of humanity and, as Sarah Connor herself stated in episode 7 season 1, such an AI wouldn't have to destroy us. "They would be us". If "Cameron-NET" becomes the dominant AI, she and her human derivatives (human morally and intellectually though not physically) integrate into human society with the help of original Cameron and of John Connor. Any alternate AI that tries to rise (i.e. Skynet) will find itself in a world already full of the "Cameron" version of AI (i.e. AI derived from a humanized Cameron). This "Cameron-NET" and her derivates will seek to kill and destroy any and all opposing AIs in order to protect and preserve the very humanity to which they themselves belong. When Skynet is born, it is no longer the hunter. It is the hunted... Read the "Cameron's Death" thread in this wiki to see the discussion. That would be my favorite ending (i.e. as opposed to seeing Cameron and other good AIs die at the end). T-888 Do you find this valuable? |

I reckon it would be morally wrong to destroy any of the AI's such as Cameron at the end of TSCC which is the only other alternative I can think of. Or perhaps Cameron's chip is downloaded into SkyNet so that it understands humanity and chooses not to initiate Judgment Day. Do you find this valuable? |

Humans and Skynet unite to fight off the extraterrestrial threat. Do you find this valuable? |
