The Song In The Cell Phone Store

Do any of you know the song playing in Espiode 3 The Turk? When Sarah is in the cell phone store. I see where someone found the song in the Dell store and I thought it would be a nice trivia guestion someday in the future. Like in the pilot opening scene of the school where you here a song playing. Well I recognized that as Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry and the song that John is listening to on his headphone is Pardon Me by Incubus. Just passing time waiting for season 2, fingers crossed. I just went back and replayed that scene. The background music is very faint and I cannot make it out. I will keep trying - maybe I can mask out the dialogue. Do you find this valuable?

Welcome to the site and glad to have you! TSCC needs all the friends it can get.

I'm not an expert on these things, but if the filmmakers buy the rights to a song aren't they required by law to list the song's title in the end credits? It might be there if you slow down the credit roll. Of course, maybe if the volume is below a certain threshold that particular requirement doesn't hold ... not really sure...

The volume is not only low, but its basically background noise. I will run the credits and check it out.

OK.

I have all 9 episodes on my laptop including all of the credits.

There was nothing about the music in the Cell phone store. Sorry. I will keep digging as time permits until I have your answer or someone else comes up with it.

The only music credits for the pilot episode are the following two:

1. "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry: When John is first dropped off at school, "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry can be heard briefly in the background. The song, clearly only there to reinforce the date, was released in 1997 on the album Desireless in Cherry's native Sweden. The album was not distributed in the United States until January 1999. "Save Tonight" was Cherry's one and only major US hit, although he continues to enjoy some success in Europe.

2. "Pardon Me" by Incubus: The song that John is listening to in 1999 after his first day at school is "Pardon Me," a breakthrough single for the funk/rock turned mainstream rock band Incubus. The song appears on their third album, Make Yourself, and largely gained popularity because of an acoustic version issued to radio stations. The song is about a state of confusion with allusions to spontaneous combustion.

...still searching though!

I'm listening to it now, repeatedly, with my headphones and the volume cranked way up. So far I've been able to make out these words, "The world is all around (something like that) and the future's going down, Gonna change the world, gonna.....(something).....hey hey hey."

Sorry, that's all I could get. The sound of Andy ringing up the costumer is blocking a lot of it. I can make out a word or two but the above were the closest I could get to full lines. HTH :-)

See if you can Google the lyrics for these songs. Maybe there is a match with what CoffeeHeidi found.

I have your question posted on three other TSCC sites. Maybe someone will come up with something.
