skynet..
Mar 24 2008, 12:47 PM EDT I wonder if all this resistence fighting is going to do anything, after all, in the movie preminition, the girls actions lead to her husband dying, and thats what she was trying to avoid in the first place, Im pretty sure that it wont be like that in terminator, but i cameron is skynet (She can lie, and shes lied to john) Then that means one thing. nothing matters anymore, the futre belongs to the machines. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: skynet..
Mar 24 2008, 3:05 PM EDT I actually disagree. The resistance was defeating the machines, that is how the whole story of Terminator begins. Skynet was losing (Kyles own words), so Skynet designed and built advanced infiltration and assassin units "Terminators", to hunt down John. They were not having luck hunting him, as the resistance was to strong. So Skynet designs and builds a working time machine, and sends a Terminator back in time to kill Sarah Connor. From there, everyone knows the story. My point is, Skynet IS losing in the future, it is very evident. The Machines were losing the war, and with time would be eradicated. Sending machines back in time was out of desperation. I believe in the new movies, they will show Skynet losing, and end the series with Skynet being defeated in some great battle. So many people seem to come up with the theory that the future is inevitable, well, maybe so. If that is the case, based on what we know, Skynet's actions are futile, and Skynet is destined to lose. As for Cameron being Skynet, I don't believe that. Cameron has lied to John, more out of protection. It is sort of "Need to know" relationship. Cameron only tells John what he needs/should know. Anything other than that, could cause problems. So she will lie to him sometimes, because John isn't supposed to know everything. Do you find this valuable? |

Mar 24 2008, 4:33 PM EDT "I actually disagree.Infiltration units were designed when John came on the scene and began showing the resistance how to take down the machines. Skynet wasn't losing -- it had already lost -- the resistance had taken out its defense grid. That's when it sent back Arnold. As for the future Kyle told Sarah that the future he came from was only one possible future and that the future wasn't set. I just got through re-watching T1. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: skynet..
Mar 24 2008, 5:00 PM EDT i agree with coven. programming terminators to do different tasks might increase its chance of winning in the future, otherwise it would lose for sure. that coltan shipment would have increased the number of terminators in the future (plan fell through), the survillence system of the traffic light system could be a HUGE advantage (plan also failed) with these attempts of cheating on the game failing, skynet would be defeated as it should/would have been but why didnt andrew goode destroy the turk? in D&D, the future andy said he could reassure it........i woulda just destroyed that damn computer before it could so some thing bad. sledge hammer to the cpu otta do the trick, peeing on it would do the trick though it would hurt........ the point is he should have killed as soon as he realized there's trouble...... obviously he cant this time cause he got killed by derek, who was rather slow at getting the job done. Mar 24 2008, 5:00 PM EDT You and I are both on the same page here Michelle =P. Lost/Losing, either way we both agree on the outcome of the war. Also, I did not say that the future was set in stone, I said "so many people seem to think...." when I was stating that theory. Do you find this valuable? |

Mar 24 2008, 5:27 PM EDT "You and I are both on the same page here Michelle =P. Lost/Losing, either way we both agree on the outcome of the war.I know you didn't Coven -- didn't mean to imply you did. And I see your argument -- your actually catching people with their own words(they say it's set in stone so skynet can't win). I was simply stating the facts of what Kyle said in T1. I guess I was just a little overzealous after re-watching the show. But I kinda go in the other direction that I think that the future is being changed every time they send someone back -- that they've really got shifting timelines going on. To me that opens up a whole new universe to a multitude of directions they can go in. Makes the show more unpredictable and I kinda like it that way. I like the thought that anything can happen. I'm not saying Cameron is skynet(I think she is a new breed of machines myself) but if she was - the war would probably be over for the simple reason that even now I don't think that if John and the others stopped skynet that he would be able to destroy her (so that there would be no possibility of skynet being built from her). He's too emotionally attached. Do you find this valuable? |
