What about Season 1 on Blue Ray
Mar 8 2008, 9:25 AM EST Maybe Fox should put the show on Blue Ray Automaticlly. Then more viewers will watch the Next season after seeing the first in such great Detail! Because I thought the show looked really cool in high def. Especially Summer Glau! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: What about Season 1 on Blue Ray
Mar 8 2008, 2:46 PM EST High bitrate video encoding (WB can do that kind of Blu-ray optimized work now that HD-DVD is dead) from the original 1920 x 1080p/24 masters. Full 24 bit audio from the master recordings in Dolby TrueHD (with no dial. norm. applied) or DTS-Master Audio lossless tracks. Or even better... supervise a Mi Casa Studios 24 bit, 7.1 channel audiophile re-mix/overhaul (with true split stereo side and rear sound effects and music for a 360 degree soundfield) and amp the basic made-for-TV soundtrack to motion picture grade quality and put it out in 24 bit, 7.1 channel lossless on the disc. Cast and crew commentary. Extended Pilot Episode with seamless branching. Full extended directors' cuts for all episodes if there was perfectly good footage left out due to the short broadcast running time (and you deem it worthy of its inclusion). I will again reiterate that I think the writers should be writing to the video releases for the extra time it gives you to flesh out the stories. Add the choice to watch the episodes in either their originally intended order or their broadcast order. Special effects and stunts on a budget. Quality documentaries and not these Electronic Press Kit fluff pieces where everything is hunky dory and it's basically a talkie commercial or clip-show overview of the series. Talk about the writer's strike, the fight to make Season 2, the fans, etc. Interview with James Cameron?? Load it up with quality transfers and features and price it fairly... since there are only 9 episodes, and I think you'll sell a lot. Do you find this valuable? |

Mar 8 2008, 6:35 PM EST "If they do all this, we'll have it released in 12 months or more."No I'm sure they can dish it out much Sooner. A Good example is Transformers they realeased it real quick. Now they need to realease Transformers and Terminator the Sarah Connor Cronnicles on Blu-Ray! PS3 Fans will love it! They will probably be able to put the entire season and the bonus features in two Blu-Ray disks a good example would be Close Encounters of the Third Kind by: Steven Spielburg released to blu-ray last year. Mar 9 2008, 12:43 AM EST "that sounds $$$ to meWho cares if it doesn't last at least we will have Season 1 on Blu-Ray. But if the show continues (which is better) it will bring some robust power to keep the show going. And if it doesn't at least we'll have the only season ever made on blu-ray. It will basicly become the new Firefly of Fox if it doesn't continue. When they have more advertisement and fan support they can do anythiny. Why so negative we need to be hopeful. Especially since HD DVD lost big time. Do you find this valuable? |

I do know that is little bit too, too much!! I just want It on blu-ray mostly for the 1080p picture and 5.1 HD surround sound and some neat bonuses! Do you find this valuable? |

A PS3 is still a nice and pretty darn stable player and upgradeable (fast too)... you just need a receiver or pre-amp that can handle at least multi-channel PCM through HDMI. A good, cheap receiver that handles PCM and all the latest audio formats is the Onkyo 705. You can find some good deals on the web. The Panasonic BD30 and upcoming BD50 are pretty decent for table top units (according to what I've read) and bitstream the advanced audio codecs to outboard processors. Even if they don't overhaul the audio (they can at least do 24 bit, 5.1 lossless) and put tons of extras on this particular set, they should for a deluxe edition when Season 2 is released! Only suggestions! Do you find this valuable? |

As of right now the X-Box 360 has an add-on HD-DVD drive (now it's a doorstop). I've heard rumors that Microsoft may add a similar Blu-ray drive soon. The interface from XBOX to HD video disc drive is a bit on the clunky side. It's not integrated well compared to the PS3 with its built in Blu-ray drive. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
