"She'll be back."
Mar 4 2008, 8:18 AM EST Don't worry, there are just too many reasons for Summer Glau to return as Cameron, if there's a season 2. Did I ever read that Josh Friedman had things planned for 3 to 4 seasons ? Average viewers may have been fooled, but not us, fans. 11 out of 12 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 4 2008, 11:32 AM EST "her exoskeleton should have suffered no damage, just her skin would have burned off"Well, it might only partially be burned off. The tanker truck took of all of Arnold's skin in T1, but being in the exploding helicoper in T3 Arnold suffered severe but not total damage to the covering. My guess is that we'll see a really messed up but still "Summer Glau" Cameron for a few episodes. Showing her in only endoskeleton form might not allow the audience to identify with the character the way they need to to maintain interest. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 4 2008, 11:38 AM EST Actually, I think an episode or two of Cameron without skin as she searches for replacement flesh could be used to explore themes regarding how much humans truly rely on outward appearances to determine how they will relate to another person or thing. Cameron is sympathetic because she looks human - would John find himself seeing her differently if she's a metal shell (even though she's technically the same cybernetic organism he removed the chip from in the second to the last episode)? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. And it would smell bad, too. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 4 2008, 12:10 PM EST It would be an interesting twist if, Cameron does indeed lose some or most of her skin to the fire, that John has a hard time being around her and becomes very uncomfortable purely based on her appearance, and that it causes Cameron to learn more about human psychology. Actually, that brings me to an interesting question. Remember in T2 where the Arnold's Terminator says that Terminators have certain speciality areas of human nature, for instance I believe his was emotions or something (someone please correct me), I wonder what Cameron's is. Mar 4 2008, 2:17 PM EST "her exoskeleton should have suffered no damage, just her skin would have burned off"It's an endoskeleton, not an exoskeleton, but your point is well taken. I'm a little concerned as to how much damage there might be to her biological components (the outer layer). Unlike Cromartie, she won't have the freedom to simply hijack a research scientist to grow new skin and flesh... I simply can't imagine John or Sarah putting up with that. I suspect Sarah's ex, the ambulance driver (darn it, forgot the character's name), will have some role to play in helping here... Do you find this valuable? |

I freely admit that one of the reasons that I really like the Cameron terminator is that she is played by the lovely Summer Glau. If Cameron appeared just as an endo-skeleton (well, at least for a couple of episodes while she recuperates from the car bomb), I'm sure my attraction to her would be reduced significantly. Mar 4 2008, 3:09 PM EST "her exoskeleton should have suffered no damage, just her skin would have burned off"I totally agree and would like to point to the first movie for evidence. remember when arnold was blown up in the oil tanker? well he came out fine except he had no skin. cameron has to be at least a T-900 because if you recall in the second to last episode her terminator vision was in color not read. the T-900 series was the first terminator to employ this feature.therefor she would have an even higher survivability. that would also explain why she could beat up cromartie so easy because the T-900 was the original " terminator, terminator". i personally think that they're going to do the same thing that cromartie did to get new skin. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. She was in "Firefly" (which fox also killed) and so i always look to see what she's in and this is a perfect match. Do you find this valuable? |
