We asked the same thing in our TERMINATOR Podcast recently and what we were thinking was that:

1.) She's pregnant and that her parents are going to killed her, she can't take the pressure, she jumps.

2.) She's been having a sexual relationship with one of the teachers, can't take the pressure, she jumps.

This and more questions abound in the most recent TERMINATOR Podcast!

I agree with TerminatorPodcast (by the way your self promotion is shameless, but helpful and amusing nonetheless). You can see some blonde hair and a bra hanging off the black door in the last one we're shown. Her assertion that her parents will kill her suggests she's gotten pregnant from this affair, although perhaps they're just really conservative and anti-sex. The teacher angle is speculation from what I remember of the episode, but would certainly lend additional shame to the whole unfortunate mess. An interesting mini-side-story that leaves me wanted to know more! I think we'll hear more about this as a mini-side-story in following episodes.

The motivation of the graffiti artist is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting parts. Why would he do this? I can think of only two reasons - either he is a jealous unrequited lover, or trying to expose an unethical teacher. Her suicide may even spur the artist on, from grief or a desire for justice or who knows what...

A Teacher or Administrator took advantage of her (a person in a position of power dominating someone vulnerable), and she was afraid and ashamed of what happened coming out. Victims of rape committing suicide or at least thinking those thoughts isn't unheard of, and whether she consented or not, it was rape.

Besides, we've all heard "I'll kill you," "they're gonna kill me.." yadda yadda. How often has someone said those words and really meant it?

Good eye NobodysHero. I'd deleted the episode off my tivo by the time I replied to this thread and wondered if there were any other clues on the doors that I'd missed. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Actually, if you compare the first and second mural to the 3rd one, you'll notice that the letters A and DAN are printed a quarter way from the top of the "window," while IDAN is printed a quarter way from the bottom of the window.

meaning she was going down?
The guIDANce counselor is a damn good guess.....
But who is the artist? Was it her?

No, it wasn't directed at Jordan, the girl who jumped. It was a protest--whoever made those murals was trying to out her attacker.

As for the lettering, no it doesn't mean someone was going down. On a typical office door, you have a name and a position. Typically, the name is followed by the position. So, we have the name of the person, DAN, spelled along the top of the door, and then the title, "GuIDANce Counselor" along the bottom.

The artist wasn't Jordan, it was another victim.

How about this question....

Is this going to go anywhere further? Or was this solely to show Cameron's inability to relate and John's desire to help?

I think it will. It was referenced in ep 4, (about the memorial service) Thus leaving an opening for the conclusion of the side story. Maybe a chance for John to right a wrong?

they showed her jumping in the "previously on the sarah connor chronicles" bit at the beginning of episdoe 4... if they weren't going to go anywhere with it, i'd think it would be odd for them to specifically remind us of it.

I got the impression that the reason they showed it to us in the recap was because of how it affected him. He felt guilty for not trying to help her and as a result went on the offensive. Hopefully we'll see more of this subplot in the near future. 7  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

I think I have figured out the reason for the Graffiti on the walls!

I believe that this "Jordan" girl must have been someone special in the future - possibly working for SkyNet. She did sleep with someone, like the Guidance Counselor as posted, and Cameron knows the history. Therefore, she created the graffiti for everyone to see because she knew the "probability" would be very high that it would eventually eat at her enough to commit suicide.

This way it becomes an open-and-shut case of a mis-guided teen (excuse the pun) that could not take the pressures of life anymore rather than her being killed - possibly tracing it back to Cameron (or John).

What do you think?

Just like Jordan said in the bathroom, "Don't we have hall monitors, I mean how could someone just have . . . " hand motioning painting on the walls. Who else could have painted these murals so quickly than Cameron. Anyone else would have been caught carrying paint and sitting there for a half hour trying to paint it. Also, what was Cameron doing in the bathroom anyway? She had no reason to go in there! She went to check the mental state of Jordan and see if the chances were increasing that she would go through with it.

In addition, you will notice how adamant Cameron is when she would not let John try to save the girl. Jordan needed to die, and we will find out for certain in later episodes - I am certain!

Enjoy!

I'm not so sure about that.

First of all, the first mural showed up when Cameron and John arrived at the school. Second, they both had to go through a metal detector and security guards--who would've checked their bags for any weapons or contraband. If Cameron was carrying materials for the murals, someone would've noticed them.

Second, if you're using spray paint, pre-cut card board templates, already practiced in advance and knew the routines of any security or hall monitors, a human could pull it off in a minute or less.

Third, Cameron was in the bathroom trying to gather information on human behavior (and clearly has a long ways to go). Unless she is the most manipulative genius on the planet, she was trying to help Jordan and failed; otherwise, why try to give her a gift or try to understand the situation?

Finally, Cameron prevented John from saving her because he would've drawn unwanted attention. Whether he saved her or not, the police and school would've wanted to question him at some point, and other students would remember him. Don't forget, these kids are hooked into the world (Internet, phones, tv, etc). It would only be a matter of time before someone stumbled onto a photo of him from 1999 and realized it was the same man at the school--he and mom are arrested and incarcerated or killed. I didn't like what Cameron did, but it was the logical thing to do.

No, thats not it, if Jordan was someone inportant in SkyNet then Cameron would have told Sarah and Jordan would have been terminated, and also why would Cameron leave clue about the affair in the grafitti.

By doing this, they later have a memorial service for her, where they give notes. This is what prompts Cameron to start writing to people after deaths (twice in later episodes) It provokes an opportunity to show a human side to her. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

cameron kind of sorta revealed to us that it was the guidance counselor when she said " you ask a lot of questions...are you sure thats all you need to tell me" or something in that nature, so basically she read it in him that he was the guilty culprit in all this, thus stating "is there anything else i need to know...?" Yeah, I should have waited a little longer before posting. I finished watching the season last night, and it is plainly obvious that she was doing the guidance counselor. O well. Thanks though. Do you find this valuable?
