Ideas on what to do with the News/Rumors page

This page has hardly been used at all, so I took some liberties trying to spruce it up.

I like the basic theme, which is News and Rumors, as opposed to articles. Articles will always have a large role in a page like this, since they are the source for most news items and rumors, but this page gives people a place to do some synthesis, interpretation, speculation, etc.

I like the two-column table as a way to present this information, with the first for the source of the news/rumor, and the second for the content--the news/rumor itself--and any analysis that the author want to add.

There are all kinds of little problems though; for example, new items should definitely go on top, but people may find it difficult to add a row to the table. I made some changes to make that easier. Most significantly I added two blank rows at the top with grayed-out "put new entry here" instructions. Not perfect, but that should help. We can always go in later and fix up where people tried to put stuff in but were stymied by WetPaint table editing, formatting, links, etc.

How to do links to the source is something we're going to have to settle on. We could put article links only on the "Read the complete article..." text at the bottom. That simplifies formatting of the titles at the top, which get screwed up if you put links on them. We could also put links on the name of the web site in the left column, but not the title--something like that.

For conventions like that we don't need to give people instructions, just a general "make it look like what's already there" hint, and then we can go in later and tweak their content to make it consistent when they stray.

I'll write later about the "articles" section at the bottom. That's problematical.
