| About John Connor John Connor is the future leader of the Resistance against Skynet in the post-apocolyptic world after Judgement Day. He is the son of Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese. Prior to the war, several terminators were sent back to assassinate John, as well as his mother. Since childhood he has been raised in the art of war by his mother, Sarah Connor. Biography Early life (1985-1995/*1998, see Deviating Timeline*) John Connor was born to Sarah Connor on February 28, 1985 (Terminator 2: Judgement Day). His father, Kyle Reese, had been killed several months prior in May 1984, protecting Connor from a time-traveling Terminator (The Terminator). John's early life was filled with training by various persons his mother Sarah had met as the two lived off the grid after the attempt on her life by the Terminator. Much of his training concentrated on the areas of weaponry, computer technology, and espionage. When Sarah Connor was shot and arrested after trying to blow up a technology factory, John was placed into foster care and told that his mother's stories of the future were delusions. He was unable to cope with life in suburbia and rebelled, edging towards delinquency and receiving a police record (which included trespassing, shoplifting, disturbing the peace, and vandalism) by the time he was ten years old. His foster parents, Todd and Janelle Voight, found themselves unable to deal with him, and were not surprised when a police officer (T-1000) showed up at their door asking to speak with John. In 1995, John's life was changed in a matter of seconds, when a T-1000 came back from the year 2029, programmed to assassinate him. A T-800 (whom John later nickname "Uncle Bob") had also come back in time, this one programmed to protect him. John, now believing his mother's stories, used the protector T-800 to save his mother from the mental institution. THe three then proceeded to seek out Miles Dyson, the would-be creator of the neural-net processor, in an attempt to stop Judgement Day from occuring. Deviating Timelines Two main timelines begin after the events of Terminator 2. One is handled in the movie Terminator 3, and the other the television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which has no ties to Terminator 3. Both timelines change John's age at the events of Terminator 2, too being 13 years old, instead of 10 thus making a fluid timeline impossible. Sarah Connor Chronicles (1999-*2007 [Time Jump]) See, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Drifter years *Terminator 3 Timeline* (1995-2003) Having survived the assassination attempts of the T-1000, John Connor again dropped off the grid, living as unobstrusively as possible. Sarah Connor, his mother, would die of cancer in 1997. He took up various odd jobs to pay his way and convinced himself that the actions he and Sarah had taken had prevented Judgement Day from happening. In 2003, however, John was once again thrown back into the turmoil of his still unresolved future. Skynet had once again sent a Terminator back in time to try and finish him off. This new model, the T-X, was a substantial upgrade over the older T-1000 model, capable of creating mechanical parts (flamethrowers, saw blades, etc.) as opposed to simple stabbing weapons. A T-850 unit was sent back once again to protect John from this new weapon, but there was an unforeseen even surrounding its arrival. Second Judgement Day (2003) John Connor and the newly reprogrammed T-850 were once again faced with a familiar situation. With a newer, highly advanced Terminator after him, Connor had to round up as many future generals as he could before Judgement Day occurred. There is some confusion over these events, though, as John thought that Judgement Day was stopped in 1995. Though it was delayed by the events surrounding the destruction of Cyberdyne, the T-850 revealed to him that Judgement Day was inevitable, and that the previous actions only delayed it. Though the T-850 was successful in stopping the T-X, it was too late. The newly redeveloped Skynet went online and became self-aware. It perceived humanity to be a threat and launched nuclear warheads at other countries. They responded in kind and the nuclear holocause of Judgement Day began. Connor and Kate survived by being led down to a military bunker, Crystal Peak, in the hopes of being able to remotely shut down Skynet from there. They only found Crystal Peak to be abandoned military shelter, and realizes the Terminator sen them down there to protect them from Judgement Day. They went on to from the beginnings of the human resistance. The Assassination of John Connor (2032) At an unknown date during the war, Skynet decided to try a new tactic to remove the leader of the resistance Knowing the familiarity that Connor had with the T-800 unit, Skynet sent a T-850 that physically resembled the old model out to the human resistance bases where it eventually found John. His judgement clouded by memories of past experiences, he allowed the Terminator into the base where it promptly killed him and a large portion of the leaders of the human resistance. This event occurs on July 4, 2032. | CHARACTER CONNECTIONS

| Aliases Because John is attempting to hide from Skynet, he often uses aliases and false identities. Despite this, he rarely changes his first name and his last names are often drawn from his personal life. John Reese - (Pilot) Reese was the last name of John's biological father, Kyle Reese. John Baum - (Gnothi Seauton) Baum is the last name of the author of the Wzard of Oz, a book that John Connor's mother often read to John when he was a child. | Paradox Theory Many people believe that Kyle Reese is John Connor's father, which would create a paradox: John would not exist in the original timeline to defeat Skynet and sen Kyle back to protect his mother in the first place. This leads many fans to one of two possible options that:

| Behind the Scenes In Terminator 2, the young John Connor was portrayed by Edward Furlond, while the older version was portrayed by Michael Edwards. In Terminator 3, John was portrayed by Nick Stahl (unlike in T2, the same actor portrays John as a young man and as his older self.) Thomas Dekker portrays John in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, with John DeVito playing an even younger John on the show. And in the next film, Terminator: Salvation, Christian Bale is rumored to be taking on the role. In the Sarah Connor Chronicles John is listed as 15 years old, in his mother's FBI record, and on the show's website. However his birthday (1985-02-28) as established in The Terminator and Terminator 2 would make him 14 when the show is set (September 1999/2007, with a time jump in between). | Appearances Films

Future John in T2 is shown wearing a uniform with the insignia of a four-star general. That's an error, right? As the leader of the Resistance, surely John is entitled to hold the rank of five-star general.

Is it "No you need to go. He gave you a ring and now you're freaking out." , "Insurance.. The boring kind." , "Chip? What model are you? Are you new?", "You bought me the wrong needle-nose pliers.. I've been calling it Time-lagged." , "You've reached the future leader of mankind.", "Statue. Screw it." or "Are you yelling at her yet..Mom, there's no turkey."

At the end of The Terminator, Sarah is last seen driving through Mexico while six months pregnant. I assume that John was born in Mexico.
Mexico recognizes birthright citizenship, so John is Mexican by birth. I was just thinking that in the United States political climate of 2007, what Cameron did to ARTIE makes John a Mexican terrorist. John gets the blame because Cameron is not a legally recognized person. (On a completely unrelated topic, I'm still bitter about Y2K7.) |

Here's something to chew over - when the drew came forward in time from the bank vault, we knew that in the time between the "jump point" and the landing point Sarah was to die of Lukemia - so there's no chance of meeting herself. But John is still alive and it is possible for the "jumped" john to meet the "linear " John. Or does his temporal line actually include the time jump?

Anybody else think that Christian Bale and the future John Conner in T2 look a little alike?
Also, the other guy signed on for TS: the future begins, Marcus Schenkenberg looks kinda like Michael Biehn. |
