IN THE BEGINNING... "The Terminator" (1984)  Sarah Connor: Reese. Why me? Why's it want me? Kyle Reese: There was a nuclear war. A few years from now, all this, this whole place, everything, it's gone. Just gone. There were survivors. Here, there. Nobody even knew who started it. It was the machines, Sarah. Sarah Connor: I don't understand. Reese: Defense network computers. New... powerful... hooked into everything, trusted to run it all. They say it got smart, a new order of intelligence. Then it saw all people as a threat, not just the ones on the other side. Decided our fate in a microsecond: extermination. Sarah Connor: Did you see this war? Kyle Reese: No. I grew up after. In the ruins... starving... hiding from H-K's. Sarah Connor: H-K's? Kyle Reese: Hunter-Killers. Aerial and ground patrol machines built in automated factories. Most of us were rounded up, put in camps for orderly disposal. [Pulls up his right sleeve, exposing a mark] Kyle Reese: This is burned in by laser scan. Some of us were kept alive... to work... loading bodies into dumpsters and incinerators. The disposal units ran night and day. We were that close to going out forever. But there was one man who taught us to fight, to storm the wire of the camps, to smash those metal m*therf*ckers into junk. He turned it around. He brought us back from the brink. His name is Connor. John Connor. Your son, Sarah, your unborn son. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)  Sarah Connor: [narrating] 3 billion human lives ended on August 29th, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines. The computer which controlled the machines, Skynet, sent two Terminators back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human resistance, John Connor, my son. The first Terminator was programmed to strike at me in the year 1984, before John was born. It failed. The second was set to strike at John himself when he was still a child. As before, the resistance was able to send a lone warrior, a protector for John. It was just a question of which one of them would reach him first. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles  TSCC Pilot Monologue:"In the future, my son will lead mankind in a war against Skynet. A computer system programmed to destroy the world. It has sent machines back through time. Some to kill him, one to protect him. Today we fight to stop Skynet from ever being created. To change our future. To change his fate. The war to save man kind begins now." TSCC Pilot Epilogue: "It is said that the death of any one person is the death of an entire world. Certainly for parents, the death of a child is no less than a holocaust. In the case of my son, these words are literally true. And even though we’ve traveled through time, bent the rules of nature, they will keep coming for him. Keep trying to kill him. But until that day, it’s gonna be one hell of a dogfight." AND SO IT CONTINUES...  In the alternate time line of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Cameron Phillips tells Sarah that Judgment Day (with its nuclear holocaust) is now set to occur on April 21, 2011. Skynet is destined to go online a few days earlier, 20:11 on April 19, 2011. The opening scene of the first season finale, "What He Beheld", takes place on this Judgment Day. This deviation from the time line that would have led to the events of T3 is directly associated with the extended series of multiple temporal missions undertaken by both Skynet and the Resistance that is showcased in the events of TSSC. Both Skynet and the Resistance (led by John Connor) are actively seeking to interfere with the time line, which are having unforeseen effects. In 1999, Sarah and John are on the move, and off the radar screen. John is 15 now. Their worst fear is realized when a Terminator has been sent back again to kill John, however, as before, a 2nd Terminator is sent back to protect John. In order to prevent Sarah from dying from Leukemia, the Terminator time jumps all three to the year 2007. IT IS THERE, IN THE YEAR 2007, THE FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE BEGINS... About Me I have been a fan of the Terminator franchise since before the 1984 movie was made. I began hearing rumors and reading articles about a movie called "The Terminator" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger who I had seen in the two "Conan" movies that preceded it. However, my attention at that time was on the following films:
Little did I realize that "The Terminator" would dwarf those movies, and make me a fan. Even though it did not rank in the top ten movies for that year, it did create a fan base, and a buzz for the sequel. JC had set the wheels in motion. Occupation My chosen career is Information Technology (computers), specializing in computer security, AI, and Program and Project Management. I have been doing this kind of work for 40 years and will soon "retire" from the hectic and pressured pace of this field.
